Last February we reported on a live performance from legendary San Fran punk group Flipper, to be held at Amoeba Records in the band's hometown. The famous record shop has graciously posted high-quality footage from the show online.
As a pioneering group in the west coast punk scene of the early 1980's, Flipper has been cited as a major influence by bands like NOFX and Nirvana.

A group of
students from Full Sail University has put together a mini-documentary for Gainesville, FL-based beardcore label No Idea Records. We've received word that the video was completed for a final school
project, and the director(s) have since graduated. Whether the video serves as a trailer for a full-length documentary feature are unknown, however, the posted 6-minute clip gives an interesting look into the label responsible for releases from bands like Hot Water Music, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Radon and many more.
The label also hosts the annual Fest each year. This year's Fest 7 will feature Bouncing Souls, Less Than Jake, Leatherface, Dillinger Four, The Lawrence Arms and many, many more over the weekend of October 31st in where else? Gainesville, FL.

Anti-Flag has commented on their participation in the recent protest performance at the Republican National Convention in Minnesota.
Yesterday we played a show on the steps of the Minnesota State Capitol in opposition of the Republican National Convention. Before our set we had planned with Rage Against The Machine to have them come onto stage directly after our set and play a set of their own on our equipment. As is often the case at such events, all was proceeding peacefully and without confrontation until the police got involved. As RATM made their way to the stage, without reason or prior notification the police surrounded the band and informed them that they would be arrested if any of them set foot on the stage. As the crowd chanted, "Let them play..." a plan was formulated. Rather than bow to police oppression and law enforcement's blatant disregard for free speech and the Constitution, it was decided that RATM would walk around the stage into the audience and issue a statement. From there things took on a life of their own...

Travis Barker on the possibility of a Blink 182 reunion

Travis Barker, drummer of Plus 44 and previously Blink 182 and The Aquabats, recently spoke to Metromix Los Angeles about whether his former band Blink 182 will reunite in the near future, saying:
I don't know. You know, to be honest with you, I haven't spoken to Tom [DeLonge] in five years. I speak to Mark [Hoppus] every day, he's one of my greatest friends, so...that's the status of that. I think everyone would have to be friends, and I think we'd all have to want to do it in order for it to happen.
Blink 182 went an "indefinite hiatus" in 2005 after releasing the self-titled Blink 182 two years prior, in 2003.

Videos: Rage Against the Machine go a cappella in St. Paul

When Rage Against The Machine attempted to play a left wing rally at the Republican National Convention this week, local authorities weren't so sure it was a good idea and shut the show down. While a proper permit was reason enough to ensure Rage couldn't play a real show, the band responded by holding a breakout a cappella session.

Rancid has confirmed the support for the remainder of their North American and upcoming UK tour dates. The bands involved span two distinct generations and that's something of a testament to Rancid's appeal. On one hand we'll see the group playing with D.O.A., the Adolescents, T.S.O.L., Dr. Know, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Anti-Nowhere League, GBH and U.K. Subs. In the same tour the band will play shows their 90s contemporaries like Less Than Jake, H2O and the Aquabats. Click below for the updated info.
Rancid's long awaited follow up to 2003's Indestructible is still in the works. The band has announced that it will get some attention before the UK leg of the tour in November, but what that means is anyone's guess. The leading rumor right now is that the album will be titled One Way To Die, but since that information comes from both contentious Wikipedia edits and Punknews submissions from fans claiming "I heard Tim say it!" don't go getting it tattooed on the back of your head just yet. Whatever it's called, the album is being produced by Brett Gurewitz and will be their first to feature new drummer Branden Steineckert.
