Franz Nicolay may well be one of the busiest men in independent music. The Brooklyn resident plays keyboards for The Hold Steady, accordion/piano for World/Inferno Friendship Society and has a number of other groups on the go such as Anti-Social Music and Guignol. This past summer James Hepplewhite caught up with Nocilay at Chicago's Pitchfork Music Festival where the two discussed all of Nicolay's musical ventures.

We're happy to bring you a unique interview today which features artists Ed Trask of Avail and Heather Gabel interviewing each other about their music, life and art. Trask, who along with drumming in the beloved Richmond-based band is a well-respected artist, who was named ""Top 40 under 40" in Richmond for his art.
Gabel is of course, the artist responsible for much of Alkaline Trio's striking merch and imagery and has also produced merch designs for My Chemical Romance, AFI and The Lawrence Arms. She continues to work as an artist. The two artists recently put together an art show in Chicago.
We've included some of both artists' work in the interview. You can find more of Ed's work on his site and more of Heather's on hers.

After designing t-shirts for Alklaline Trio for the past ten years, there's a good chance a bulk of you are wearing a design by Heather Gabel. The artist, who recently moved to Gainesville, Florida, has done artwork for a number of bands, including My Chemical Romance, AFI and The Lawrence Arms. She also has an art show opening up in Chicago this Friday. The All Rise Gallery features a number of artists in addition to Gabel. For more information on that, click here.
Meanwhile, in our ongoing effort to bring you interviews with people involved in the punk community through peripheral roles, we're pleased to bring you a conversation between Gabel and our own Ronnie Raffaniello.
